    Hinduism has many gods because it is both henotheistic and monotheistic, believing in one supreme god (Brahman) while also worshipping individual deities. Hindus can view God as either personal (with forms like Vishnu, Shiva, etc.) or impersonal (as the absolute Brahman). The four principle denominations of Hinduism are Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism, and Smartism.
