Internet Safety Final Project 8th Grade

DIRECTIONS Now that we have spent some time looking at many different ways that we can make being online safe, it is time to put your knowledge to the test! You will be creating a PowerPoint Presentation that demonstrates your understanding of this unit. Once you have completed the PowerPoint, you will be presenting it to the rest of the class. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure that you meet all expectations of the project: MINIMUM OF 8 SLIDES AND A MAXIMUM OF 10 SLIDES MUST INCLUDE INTRODUCTION SLIDE, TABLE OF CONTENTS SLIDE, CONCLUSION SLIDE, AND MINIMUM OF 5 INFORMATIVE SLIDES. INFORMATIVE SLIDES CAN INCLUDE FACTS, STATISTICS, AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED DURING THIS UNIT. EACH SLIDE NEEDS TO INCLUDE A PICTURE, TEXT, TRANSITIONS, AND ANIMATION ACTION BUTTONS AND HYPERLINKS NEED TO BE USED AT LEAST TWICE. PRESENTATION MUST LAST BETWEEN 3-4 MINUTES Each slide should represent a different type of information than the previous slide. For example, one slide could be about Cyber-bullying; another could be about information to avoid giving out online, etc. You are in charge of setting up the design of your project. Be creative Please refer back to the websites we used for the scavenger hunt if you are having trouble finding information to use. You may also look for additional websites that will help you complete the PowerPoint.

Student states some of the main findings of Internet Safety done through their individual research. Students outline their findings on Internet Safety in a way that states why they need to develop a presentation to stay safe while using technology.

Developing Ideas
The student does not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors below. Student states one basic finding on Internet Safety. Students create one design idea used to present to the class on their planning chart. Planning chart is presented incomplete. Student states few findings on Internet Safety on their planning chart. Students create more then one-design idea and outlines reasons for choosing the design with reference to the design specifications.

Creating the Solution

The student does not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors below. While creating their power point student demonstrates minimal technical skills. Their slides are created poorly and are incomplete. Overall Power Point is hard to follow and obtain relevant info. While creating Power Point students demonstrates satisfactory technical skills.
