s technology becomes increasingly advanced and readily available for the public, Amazon will take to the skies using drones to fly their packages to nearby customers. Amazons CEO, Jeff Bezos, announced that the company will start 30-minute deliveries using drones to deliver Amazon products to nearby customers within a 10 mile radius of Amazon distribution sites. CNN reported that Jeff Bezos took to 60minuteson Sunday to introduce the world to Amazon Prime Air. Missy Cummings, a drone expert for Amazon, told CNN that the, Federal Aviation Administration needs to sign off on Amazons flight plans, before the drones are ready to use, yet Amazon maybe able to get drones up in the air by the year of 2015. Bezos explained that the drones will be able to carry up to five pounds, which accounts for 86% of all of Amazons deliveries. For the 10-mile radius and the weight of the package, Cummings explained that the battery life must be able to last at least 30 minutes, but will have to be extended in order to make the journey with heavier products.
