In 1968, the Dallas North Tollway opened. It provided interstate access from downtown to what is today, Dallas close-in northern suburbs (ending at Royal Lane). The Tollway has been a critical infrastructure improvement that has dramatically shaped Dallas developed landscape. In the early 1980s, the office inventory north of Forest Lane totaled 7 million SF. Since then, more than 200 office buildings have been delivered, adding 40 million SF of multi-tenant and owneroccupied space.
