Introduction. Shipbuilding market requirements to aim at production cycle of the ship cut down cause change of the shipyard shipbuliding technology. Wide range of module equipment application of the ship its one of the most serious possibilities of shorter production cycle of the ship. Shipyard experience during building the long series of the ships shows much possibilities of modularization for many elements of ship equipment. Compressed air receiver module is an example of reduction installation and mounting costs. Due to classification society requirements to install two main compressed air receivers with many connections and pipelines it is necessary to make one module with all this pipelines and fittings. Picture and drawing below show installation made with separately elements.

Compressed air receivers module characteristic. As write above due to classification society requirements two main compressed air receivers are normally mounted on the each ship. These compressed air receivers are very often called start-up tanks in view of main function storage of compressed air as a source of starting energy for main engines of ships propulsion. To avoid of installation costs , above-mentioned compressed air receivers are also start-up tanks for generator sets , delivery air to the typhoon and through reduction vales and pipelines supply air for many other purposes ( e.g.: pneumatic devices, other ships equipment).

Compressed air receivers module equipment. Compressed air receivers module consist of: - two compressed air receivers mirror execution ( module dimensions and pipelines lengths are shorter in that way); - fittings mounted directly on the receivers; - pipelines sections of delivery pipes, supply pipes and outlet pipes from safety valves; - measuring and control systems (pressure control valves, pressure converters, manometers, etc.) mounted on common foundation directly on the tank; - module fastening elements to the hull structure. In view of describe module dimensions all block elements will be fitting in the producer than dismounting and after transport to the ship mounting again as a module. Tank capacity ( and also dimensions) and fittings size is defined acc. to engines of main ship propulsion depend to classification society and owner requirements and space in the engine room. Modules producer choose equipment after taking into consideration above conditions acc. to its standards.

Recapitulation. Profits come from module solution of compressed air receivers together with elements of pipeline could be present below: - place occupy by the module is saver in relation to traditional solution; - shorter montage time thanks to include in module elements which are troublesome to fit on the ship; - easier to execution connection for ships compressed air system cause stub pipes are placed in two groups ( for pipelines over the floor and for the pipelines under the upper deck ); - measuring and control systems are mounted on the block , in that way shipyard do not make any additional fastenings; - common upper fastening of two tanks instead of two separately fastenings in traditional solution.
