Why

not use a compound or complex structure?

The topic sentence should always contain the main idea in the question or in some cases your opinion. This is an effective technique in creating cohesion across paragraphs.

Example: Senior citizens staying with their family contribute in the formation of young generations character. It is a fact that most households with elders staying with them teach different values like respect to older persons.
