Thursday, April 24th

*Utilize the app MapMyRide to enhance the riding experience. *Demonstrate and perform basic rules and riding techniques (braking, signaling/ communicating, and acceleration and gear changes) needed for safe and effective cycling.

*Daily Performance Rubric will be filled based on their level of achievement

The students will be asked to get in groups of others with the same phones as themselves. The students will then be asked to get out their phones and show their phones and the app to their partners.

*Once the student have shown that they have already opened up their MMR app we will go and get our bikes out of the bike room. *When everyone has their bike, helmets, and phones ready they will be asked to stay with their partner and start the app. *Since it is our first day using the app as a class, we will take a short 1.5 mile ride around Oak Lawn and back to campus. *Throughout the ride I will challenge them to keep up with certain speeds, track our current distances. *We will close the class with other neat features of the app and ask the students to bring their phones back again tomorrow.
