JOZANI –CHWAKA BAY NATIONAL PARK

MANAGEMENT OBJECTIVES

Objective 1.
Halt biodiversity degradation and ultimately the improvement of biodiversity, within the Park
ecosystem through the control of human and other related activities by the use of community
participation.
1.1.1 Zonation of JCBNP agreed between Park Authority and local stakeholders.

Objective 2.
To provide institutional capacity building and human resource programme to ensure that Jozani is
staffed with qualified experienced local staff.

Objective 3.
To work closely with JECA, to promote and improve sustainable management of
forest resources within the National Park, as well as the wider community.

Objective 4.
Community awareness is raised on the importance of sustainable management
of natural resources through a conservation education and extension programs.

Objective 5.
To strengthen and maintain high quality ecotourism which benefits the
conservation of biodiversity, benefits local communities and generates
revenues to sustain these endeavors.

Objective 6
To improve and maintain adequate scientific data on JCBNP ecosystem.

Objective 7
Maintain good working relationship with other Government agencies and private
sector.
