Assignment 1 Demonstrating your teamwork skills (P4, P5, P6, M2, D1) Scenario Alan Sugar is looking for his next Apprentice. If you are to get the position, it is essential that you are aware of the importance of teamwork and that you are able to both work well as part of a team and that you can lead a team when needs be. In order to give you a chance to demonstrate your teamworking ability, he is sending you to a specialist centre in Lantau called Dragonfly. You will be given plenty of opportunity to work in teams and you must collect evidence of your contribution to prove your worth when you return to the boardroom. Task one Lord Sugars Aide, Mr Cornes, will be joining you on the trip to observe your contribution to the team. e will be taking feedback to the boardroom in the form of witness statements and photographs. You must ensure that your contribution to the following activites has been observed. Teamwork during the various challenges (P4) Team leadership during the various challenges (P5) Dealing with conflict whilst leading in the various challenges (P5) Reviewing the teams effectiveness either throughout the day or during the review session at the end of the day (P6) Comparing the effectiveness of your team to another during the review session (M2 part) Task two On return to school you will be asked to join Lord Sugars aides in the boardroom, Mrs Tam and Mr Cornes for interview. You will be asked to evaluate your teams performance. In this discussion you must 1. Compare how your team performed to the other teams. (M2 part) 2. Then, using specific examples from your team to make recommendations on how your teams performance could have been improved (D1).

Assignment 2 What is Teamwork all about? (P1, P2, P3, M1) Scenario You local HKTDC office are holding some courses in leadership for small businesses starting up in the area. They have approached you to create a webpage for one of these courses as a result of your recent experience. Task Prepare a webpage and handouts on the features of teams, the benefits of different types of team, and leadership qualities. The audience of this course will be young people between the ages of 16 25 hoping to manage staff for the first time. Include the following sections in your training materials Types of teams Include formal, informal, size of teams, temporary teams and permanent groupings. (P1) Benefits of teams Include contribution to departments and organizational productivity and effectiveness, target setting and monitoring, how performance is monitored, reduction of alientation, fostering innovation, sharing expertise, implementing change, roles and identification and development of talent.
