Just in Time technique Total quality Management Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Decision Support System Benchmarking

A philosophy of manufacturing based on planned elimination of all waste and on continuous improvement of productivity. Or it is an approach with the objective of producing right part in the right place at the right time. (in other words Just In Time) It means goods are produced or ordered only when they are needed.

Reduction in lot sizes :- The lot sizes for purchased items should be reduced through better planning and process and product redesigns. Reduction in Lead times:- JIT requires that there should be reduction in production lead times and delivery lead times. Flexible Workforce:- Workers should be trained to operate several machines ,to perform maintenance tasks and to perform quality check.

4. Preventive Maintenance :- It means the use of machine and worker idle time to maintain equipment and to prevent breakdowns. 5. Implementation of Zero defect quality program:JIT advises to implement a zero defect quality program . It means errors leading to defective items must be eliminated.

TQM is an integrated organizational approach in delighting customers (both internal and external ) by meeting their expectations on a continuous basis through everyone involved with the organization working on continuous improvement in all products ,services and processes along with proper problem solving methodology.
