Chris Wasnetsky 01/29/14 Field II Live Lesson Plan Objective - By the end of the lesson, students will be able

to take percentages of numbers. Attention Getter - Introducing myself to the class (new presenter to them). Introduction - Introduce who I am and why I am here. - The material the class worked on the previous night for homework (converting percentages to fractions and decimals) will be used during the process of taking percentages of numbers. Body - PowerPoint slide (teachers, not mine) introducing subject. - The PowerPoint includes the formula used to solve these problems and the descriptions of the variables. (a = p%*b, a = part, p = percentage, b = whole number) - One example is gone over with guided student input (question made up by presenter). - Word problem example from book next (guided student input). - Work on other examples as time permits (include example of a percentage over 100%). Review/Wrap-up - Teacher assigns homework based on the material learned in class. - All of the examples are direct applications of the formula, so the review is constant. Performance/Behavior Standards - Student input is encouraged throughout the lesson. Assessment Throughout the course of the lesson, assessment is performed by the act of student input towards the solutions to answers on the board. Reinforcement of Key Concepts This is performed by working through many examples during the lesson. The key components of the lesson are present in each example and are reinforced every time a problem is solved.
