ALTITUDE INDICATOR
INTRODUCTION
The following are overhaul instructions for altitude indicator.
In this instructions are contained testing, static checks and adjustments procedures. When the height indicator does
not meet the test procedures measurement limits, perform the troubleshooting and alignment procedure per T.O.
12P5-2APN194-3.
Repair will require disassembly of the height indicator according to T.O. 12P5-2APN194-3, repair or replacement is
contained in this procedure. After the replacement of the defective part reassemble the height indicator and perform
the testing procedure, to ensure that the height indicator is working properly.

a. Verify test set NAVC-25 power
cable assembly W1 is connected
to 115 Vac, 400 Hz, and 28 Vdc
facility power.
b. Set control Panel tester power
ON/OFF switch to ON(S1,S2).
Tester power 115V and 28V
indicator lamps shall light.
c. Connect +28vDC power to test
panel (p/n: 7063-0011-101).
d. Connect +4vDC power test panel
(p/n: 7063-0011-101).
e. Set switch power +28vDC to ON.
f. Set switch TEST RELIABILITY to
ON
g. Turn push to TEST knob in height
indicator fully CW.
h. Adjust P2 ALTITUDE SIGNAL for
1vDC 0,1

On height indicator, adjust Push


to test Knob fully CCW.
b. Observe height indicator CCA
dial pointer and OFF flag.
c. On height indicator, adjust Push
to Test knob CW to set low altitude
limit index at 0. If necessary, adjust
ALT Signal control to obtain an
altitude reading on scale.

low altitude limit index
through altitude range.
b. Adjust ALT SIGNAL control
to obtain 1000 ft.
On height indicator, adjust

positions. At each [position,
adjust test set ALT Signal
control to move dial pointer
down scale until height
indicator low altitude
warning lamp and test set
LOW ALT lamp light.
Observe ac/dc differential
voltmeter reading for each

d. On test set, set TEST
RELIABILITY to OFF
switch to ON and
display the warning logic
signal on oscilloscope.
e. Set TEST RELIABILITY
to ON.
f. With oscilloscope
horizontal sweep set to
0.2s/cm, observe
oscilloscope display
while adjusting test set
ALT Signal control to
move the height
indicator dial pointer
from a position above
480 ft to a position
below 480 ft.
g. Observe oscilloscope
while adjusting test set

d. Replace cables in test set
cover and install cover on
case.
