disease begins abruptly with fever, headache, weakness, chills and sweating. -- The acute phase lasts from about 10 days 14 weeks. -- There is no skin rash or local lesion.
MODE OF TRANSMISSION
- Inhalation of contaminated dust from dairy barns - Ingestion of milk from infected cattles.
CAUSATIVE AGENT
Coxiella Burnetti - Strong resistance outside cell heat, dring and sunlight filterable, zoonotic. -There is no rash formation. -Occurs in persons associaed with goat, sheep, or dairy cattle. -- Small gram negative bacterium. -
LABORATORY DIAGNOSIS
Weils Felix Test - This refers to the agglutination of proteus bacilli by the serum of patients with typhus or other rickettsial disease.

PREVENTION CONTROL
-Vaccination --
pasteurization and sterilization of milk and other dairy product. -- disinfection of utensils. -Regular testing of animals and those who work closely with them.
