Description
This was my first meeting with my mentor. We talked about the musical we were doing and discussed what level dancers I would have to teach. She told me her advice on teaching dance to beginners. We also deliberated about how many dancers we would need for the dances in the musical.

September 25, 2013

I finally received the music for the musical. I told Amy what songs we would be choreographing and we listened to all of the music. We discussed what movements would match the music and complement the low level dancers. We also figured out what music to cut and when to bring in the high level dancers.

October 2, 2013

We started teaching choreography for low level dancers for the song Be Our Guest. We split up dancers into groups. One group stood on the stairs connected to the set and preformed arm movements, while the other group danced on the front of the stage. After the class was over, Mrs. Amy and I later choreographed the rest of the dance at a dance studio. The dancers came for a weekend practice. I continued teaching choreography for the song Gaston, this time with the help of Mrs. Amy. She watched the dances that I had already taught to the low level dancers. She then gave corrections and helped clean the dances.

We taught the high level dancers the choreography for the dance breaks. We also showed them the lower level choreography that overlapped with their dance time so that they could join in.
