Varengold MetaTrader 4 for Mac OS X

1. System Requirements
To install and run the MetaTrader 4, a Mac with Intel processor and an existing installation of the newest version of quartz is required.

2. Installation
2.1 Installation of Quartz Please use the file First step - install XQuartz.dmg or download the newest version from the website http://xquartz.macosforge.org/ to install Quartz. 2.2 Installation of the MetaTraders To install the MetaTrader 4 for OS X, please drag the Varengold MetaTrader icon from the top left and drop it on the program folder icon on the top right. The Varengold MetaTrader will be installed in the program folder of your Mac. 2.3 Creating a desktop link If you want to use expert advisors or additionally indicators, please double-click on the file "Create Program Folder Link" that creates a direct link to the program folder on your desktop. In the sub-folder experts you can add your own expert advisors that will be available in the MetaTrader afterwards.

3. Wine
Wine is a software that enables Windows programs to run on UNIX-like operation systems. This version of the MetaTrader for Mac is based on Wine and enables this trading software, which was originally programmed for Windows, to run on your Mac. As the MetaTrader is a Windows program the functions and stability of the Mac version may differ from the Windows version.

4. Known bugs
In some versions of Mac OS X the smileys will not be displayed correctly and will be replaced by other icons when using an expert advisor. The functionality will not be affected in any way.
