    ABOUT THIS HANDBOOK

    This handbook is specially prepared for a reasonably educated and helpful local person, who can help the poor to form Self-Help Groups (SHGs). This book helps to understand the subject in a simple way.

    Copies of relevant instructions from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and NABARD are given in the annexure to this book.
    Some simple formats of the minimum requirement of account registers, membership registers, minutes book, etc., which are generally used by SHGs are given, for guidance. The formats of the documents to be submitted by the SHGs, while availing loans from banks are also given as annexure to this handbook.
