Goals: Students will compose a strong research paper using MLA format Objectives: Students will continue researching topic Students will continue drafting paper

Standards: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.2b Develop the topic with well-chosen, relevant, and sufficient facts, extended definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples appropriate to the audiences knowledge of the topic. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.7 Conduct short as well as more sustained research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question) or solve a problem; narrow or broaden the inquiry when appropriate; synthesize multiple sources on the subject, demonstrating understanding of the subject under investigation. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.8 Gather relevant information from multiple authoritative print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively; assess the usefulness of each source in answering the research question; integrate information into the text selectively to maintain the flow of ideas, avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation. CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.9-10.9 Draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research. Procedure: 1. Students will be given quiet time in-class to continue the research and drafting stages of their papers. 2. Individual conferences will occur randomly throughout the class period by teacher. 3. In the last 10 minutes of the class period, student progress will be evaluated by the teacher. Evaluation: Student progress on initial research will be evaluated during a walk-through by the teacher.
