Know Your Kitchen Equipment

Egg Slide/Flip
The egg slide/ flip is used to flip eggs, pancakes and various other items. It may also be used as a spatula

Apple Corer
The apple corer is used to take the cores out of apples it can also be used to make cylinder shapes out of foods such as water melon

Cake Spatula
The cake spatula can be used to cut cakes or spread icing over them

Colander
The colander is used to extract the water from something e.g. pasta or potatoes

Egg Beater
The egg beater can be used to beat either a whole egg or an egg white/yolk

Wooden Spoon
The wooden spoon is used to mix hot foods because the plastic would melt e.g. a soup or stew

Vegetable Peeler
The vegetable peeler is used to peel vegetable and fruits either for aesthetical or structural purposes

Flour Sifter
The flour sifter is used to make flour, sugar and other solid items finer

Grater
The grater is used to make fruit and vegetables finer

Pastry Brush
The pastry brush is used to brush milk, oil or butter onto pastry

Spatula/Plate Scraper
The spatula/plate scrape is used to mix things lightly and/or spread icing on things as well as cleaning plates

Chefs/Cooks Knife
The chefs/cooks knife is used mostly for cutting, slicing and dicing meats

Serrated Knife
The serrated knife is mostly used to slice and half bread

Paring Knife
The paring knife is used to cut, slice and dice vegetables and fruits

Measuring Cups
The measuring cups are used to measure things into exact amounts

Measuring Jug

The measuring jug is used to measure liquids into exact amounts

Measuring Spoons
The measuring spoons are used to measure small amounts of either solids or liquids
