Have you ever wondered how you got your eye color or why your hair is brown?

Well this is because genetic inuences e!ects our physical and behavioral traits. Hair color is one thing that is e!ected from your genetics also your eye color." One thing we know that In humans, each cell normally contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46. One chromosome in each pair is inherited from the mother, and the other from the father. Twenty-two of these pairs, sometimes called autosomes, look the same in both males and females. The 23rd pair, called the sex chromosome because it determines gender, is the one which di!erentiates males and females. Females have two copies of the X chromosome, one from each parent, while males have one X chromosome from their mother, and one Y chromosome from their father (Kimberly Powell, 2014). The 23rd pair chromosome makes you a boy or a girl. Just by that chromosome already changes what type of gender you are." A persons physical development is strongly a!ected by their genes inherited from their parents. Parents genes predetermine the limits of an individuals height and other characteristics including the variability in eye color, hair color, body composition, and skin tone. (Unknown 1). The reason what you look like is because of your parents genes. When two parents are homogeneous, (meaning alike each other) for a brown eyed allele, they cannot have a blue eyed child, but if both parents are heterozygous (Having di!erent alleles at one or more corresponding chromosomal loci) and have a blue eye allele, there is a twenty-ve percent chance that their child will inherit homozygous alleles that create a phenotype for blue eyes. (Unknown 1). Shown here your parents give you your traits on how you look. They are the reason why you have your eyes blue, brown or hazel eye color. The way kids can grow in height is by many external factors in the environment including nutrition and events during the childs growth. Having them eat healthy can e!ect the way they grow and how they look." Scientists believe that many emotional and behavioral traits, at least in part, are inuenced by an individuals genetic makeup. Eating habits, intelligence, a penchant for aggressiveness, and even sleeping patterns all have their roots in our DNA (Kimberly Powell, 2014). There are habits you have that problem come from your parents. Like sleeping habits or when you get angry really easy or get emotional really easy can come from the roots of your DNA. It is a debate today. Do genes e!ect how we acted around one another. Most scientist believe that human behaviors are inuenced by a combination of genes and the environment. (Google Books, 2014). " Genetic inuence e!ects our physical and behavioral traits. This happens because of your genes. Your genes make up wether you have blue, brown or hazel eyes. Or what color your hair is. Your genes make up what you look like. Genes make up who you are and what you look like." " " Cited source: "Lifelines."
