TEACHING EXPERIENCE Heartland Elementary School, Jordan School District August 2011- present Taught 6th grade class of 23-26 diverse students in a Title I school. Differentiated class work, homework, assessments and instruction using a variety of methods. Worked with district to develop STEM lessons and activities for 6th grade core. Developed excellent rapport with struggling students and their families. Stimulated student interest with hands-on cross- curricular activities while teaching a variety of 6th grade units. Participated in 6th grade team and SPED teachers PLCs. We collaborated on common assessments, essential concepts, and RTI strategies for literacy, math, and classroom behavior. Provided meaningful grade level lessons by scaffolding for students with SPED services, enhancing their participation in the mainstream classroom. Created lessons using the SIOP model to increase explicit vocabulary instruction, increased engagement, and targeted language accusation objectives, and English Language Development instruction.
