We have been asked to collect stories and artifacts from Rock Hills African American Business District located along old Trade Street.! This is a huge honor and responsibility from the City of Rock Hill. ! ! To collect these stories our school is hosting a night when our students will be on hand to interview and record stories and scan artifacts for the new city monument. !

When did you arrive in Rock Hill?! Which street did you live on?! What was it like when you were growing up?! What was it like during the Civil Rights Movement in Rock Hill? ! What are the name of stores in this area? Who was the owner?!

Please bring in any pictures and newspaper articles that you have of this area of Rock Hill. We will scan the artifact, record the information, and hand the artifact back to you.!

We are concentrating on the following streets:! West Black Street! Trade Street! Johnson Street! Wilson Street! West Main Street!
