Students should be able:


To understand the aim of striking and fielding games is to score more points/ runs than the opposition after a specific time. The games encourage participation in various positions (strikers/ runners, fielders and bowlers/ pitchers) by all players throughout the games. To understand that each of the positions employ specific strategies. To understand, encourage and develop a high degree of precision in the physical technical and tactical principles of play. Through striking and fielding games (Cricket), the students will develop fundamental movement skills which will include hand eye co-ordination, throwing, catching, batting, bowling, and suggest ways to improve performance individually and as a team. To understand that small sided games can develop the elements of placement when fielding and apply defending and attacking concepts to out wit the opposing team. To understand why regular, safe e ercise is good for their fitness and health.
