Progress, to me writing is all about progress.

When you look at the first draft of a paper then look at a final draft of it you can really see how the author and his writing progressed from an okay paper to the final draft that is ready to be published. If writing never progressed then we would all just write like little kids with no proper grammar usage and very basic vocab, little sentence structure or any structure at all.
