Upgrade

----- Prior to an upgrade the SIP module, on the 3cTM, must be turned off. If this is not done then the upgrade will fail. Once the upgrade is completed you must re-enable the SIP Module.

Phone Download
----- On the SIP Services Basic Settings page you must! under the Provisioning Rela option! set it to !pen UDP ports for remote phone provisioning . If this is not done then the phone will not be able to download operational code via the "c#M.

Phone Registration
$fter an upgrade on the #elecommuter Module from v%.&.'.( to %.(." you must create a rule on the )SIP Traffic and Users " #iltering) *#his is a new configuration screen for v%.(."+ ,so phones will successfully register with -allp via the "c#M. If this filtering rule is not created! users will not be able to register and a SIP error %.% will be generated. #he rule should be as follow/

(make sure its set to ON)

The rule information is obtained from the content field on the SIP 200 ok message from Callp during registration: content-type: application/ -c!-user-profile

----- Other rules are needed for different features on the phone! including one for allowing the use of the 0ser 1irectory feature. ----- In order to avoid the need to create multiple rules you may create a wild card rule which will allow any re2uest to be processed.

SIP Re(uest )rror

#he following error came up after the upgrade/

Please add a pro3y rule! change the default policy for SIP re2uests and4or add a local SIP domain. -urrent configuration will not process any SIP re2uests

Transfer #ailure
"c#M phone -orp Phone "c#M phone 8hen the transfer button was pressed! to initiate the transfer! after a few seconds the phone initiating the transfer would disconnect. #he issue was traced to having an entry in the SIP #raffic and 0sers 0ser 1atabase 7ocal SIP 1omains. #his field had an entry in the for the callp IP add! and the transfer had a domain of the "c#M e3ternal IP! therefore the call was being re9ected. See log info bellow from the "c#M/
