Final Draft Effects of Abortion Legalization After the feminist group in the United States of America had fought

a hard a battle for their rights, abortion was eventually legalized in the United States; however, this legalization will lead to an increase in sexual activity, accompanied by increase in sexually transmitted diseases and behavioral decisions. Firstly, legalizing abortion will lead to an increase in sexual activity. Since an individual claims that he/she has thethey have right to their body, they he/she will feel free to engage in sexual activitiesy without thinking about the consequences. Unwanted pregnancy used to be a great reason that makes peoples to think twice before deciding to get involved in sexual activityactivities. Consequently, more peoples from any walks of life will get involved in sexual activities, especially teenagers. Widely known that teenage is a stage of life where we start to explore things and sexual intercourse is included. Secondly, this legalization will cause an increase in sexually transmitted diseases. This can happen because contraceptive devices areis not necessary anymore since abortion is an available option if the unwanted pregnancy occurs. More peoples will choose to enjoy unprotected sex. By practiscing this, the bacteria and virusal that cause sexually transmitted diseases such as syphillis, gonorrhea and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) can spread easily. Those pathogen can be transmitted through body fluids exchange during oral intercourse and copulation. Syphillis and gonorrhea are bacterial infection and need to be treated urgently while AIDS is viral infection and cannot be treated. Thirdly, behavioral decisions of a person will get affected negatively. Abortion is a reckless behavior since they do not want to bear the responsibility as a parent. Because As they always taketook an easy way escape route when they are dealing with problems, womens whothat undergone abortion would usually have a tendency to lead a miserable life. According to Gruber, Levine, and Staiger (1999), they found that individuals who have had abortions would have been 40 percent more likely to live in poverty and 50 percent more likely to receive welfare as compared to a single parents. In conclusion, abortion should not be legalized because it can lead to an increase in sexual activity, spread sexually transmitted diseases and negative behavioral decisions.
