Brazil produces 25,7% more than its population consumption

In 2006, 26,3 million tons of food were thrown away. In a daily basis, l 39 thousand tons are wasted, a quantity sufficient to feed 19 million people

Inefficient agritural industry waste is found in the whole process: 20% is lost in during harvesting; 8% in transportation and storage; 15% while being industrialized; 1% in sales market; 20% while cooking and with population food habits.
