A UCLA study found that $1 million investment in incarceration will prevent 350 crimes, while the same investment in education will prevent more than 600. (Bazos and Hausman, 2004)

If they successfully complete the class they can enroll at SSCC at no cost. Gordon, G., Smith, H., and Lewis, D. (2002). A framework for breaking barriers: a cognitive reality model. Bellevue, WA: Gordon Graham and Company, Inc. This book used by the SSCC Life-Skills-to-Work class. Works to help people realize the barriers in their lives and thinking that impede their success.

Post-Prison Education Program-www.postprisonedu.org Works to provide support and encouragement in pursuits of education for currently and formerly incarcerated men and women.
