Burning camphor is of no use as sufficient camphor vapour is not generated. # Mustard oil has the capacity to neutralize negative energy even when cold or not being used as lamp fuel. A ghee (clarified butter) lamp generates positive energy in addition to burning up negative energy. Til (sesame) oil is the most powerful cleansing and healing of all oils used is a lamp. # Sea-salt water absorbs and neutralizes negative energies. One or two handfuls of sea-salt may be dissolved in a bucket of water. This salt is locally known as samudri namak or kacha namak. One may also rinse oneself after a bath with sea-salt water and then with fresh water. # Foodgrains, especially rice, have the capacity to absorb and transmute negative energies. In particular, on the eleventh day of the waxing and waning moon cycle, this absorption is at a maximum. This day is called "ekadasi" (eleventh day). Followers of traditional religious and spiritual methods observe this day as a fast specifically from Foodgrains. # Yellow, orange and blue violet flowers are the most powerful for this purpose.
