Our 2012 MCA results prove we are EXCEEDING

ZIMMERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL

OUR FACULTY
We have talented, experienced faculty who are dedicated first and foremost to student success. Eighty percent of our faculty hold masters degrees or higher and two-thirds have ten or more years of experience in the classroom.

Zimmerman Middle & High School

Achieved the greatest single year growth among ISD 728 middle schools in the areas of Math and Reading proficiency. Earned a 400% increase in the number of students who met the exceeds standard level on 6th grade Math. Attained the highest Focused Rating (a major indicator of academic growth aimed at closing achievement gaps) increase of all ISD 728 schools. Achieved our highest levels of proficiency in 6th, 7th and 8th grade Reading and 6th and 8th grade Math.

Accomplished the highest level of proficiency (97%) in Writing of all ISD 728 high schools. Scored the second highest level of proficiency in Reading of all ISD 728 high schools (10% above the state average).

Our middle school students enter high school prepared to SUCCEED


8th grade Math *MCA scores exceeded the state average. 25% of our current freshmen met the exceeds standard level on the 8th grade Math MCA. 8th grade Reading MCA scores exceeded the state and district averages. 38% of our current freshmen met the exceeds standard level on the 8th grade Reading MCA. Preparing Students for the Global Economy Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education curricular programs used in middle and high schools across the U.S.

Many of our graduates enter college with a head start on credits, thanks to our on-site Advanced Placement (AP) and College in the Schools (CIS) courses. One recent ZHS graduate started college with a full year of college credits completed without ever having to leave our campus.
