PBIS/ Olweus Presentation

BEFORE WE START
1. A HUGE shout out to our PBIS teams 2. Do not think of this as something else to do 3. This system works IF done correctly and staff buy in is present 4. At any point ask questions, lets make this a conversation 5. Get excited! A story about my summer project

Before They look just fine, right?!

After Knew we could do better!

WHY DID I TELL YOU THIS STORY?

1. My cabinets look really good. 2. Most importantly, this example is much like our PBIS project. - It looked scary right away. - At some points I wanted to fizzle out. - Our students here are GREAT people. How great is it that we are in a district that believes we can do better for our students! - Always getting better!

The Problem/Challenge
Problem behavior is the single most common reason why students are removed from regular schools, work and housing settings Traditional efforts to get tough or train and hope have proven ineffective

Talk to me about the connection of Olweus and PBIS

We are going to create a school climate so positive, that bullying cases will dramatically decline. If we create the positive culture with PBIS and address bullying with the Olweus classroom meetings our school climate will because more positive. If students feel welcome and safe more learning will happen. Lots of ifs there Sinram. It is up to us.
