Ways to respond to drama

1. Immediate response This is the response that we get based on the impression given by the performer. An immediate response is given after we watch a performance. 2. Intellectual response The intellectual response is the response given to the performance based on the techniques shown by the performers and production crew. We must research the effectiveness of the techniques used in a drama. 3. Artistic The artistic response is how our own imagination responds to a performance. The Benefits of Audiences Feedback to the Performers It will help us to see the mistakes that we may not have noticed. We can learn what to improve for our next performance. We can judge the audiences understanding of the issues delivered in the performance. We can reflect on whether the message in our drama was understood. We can find out if the audience payed attention. We can find out ifthe audience know how the issues raised could change their daily life. We can learn if our body language and performances were good. It will help us discover if the audience know tha tour purpose was to tell them about an issue.

Direct stage drama Dig It The theme was the exploration of past civilization by explorers. Similarities Recorded Drama Title : HarryAnti Bullying - The theme was about a boy named Harry who is being bullied by all his friends and this has a big impact.

The make-up, props, lighting, audio systems, special effects used were related to the theme of ancient clothes and ancient objects.

The costumes, make-up,


props, lighting, audio systems, special effects were not used much in the performance.

The conflict started in the middle of the story. All the actors used their personalities and costumes to portray their characters. There were a few blockings.

Both performance s had conflict that was used in the story.

There was conflict about bullying from the beginning until the end of the story. The characters did different action in different situations. There were lots of blockings.

The use the microphone headset meant performers dialogue could be heardl. All of the script was connected.

The performers dialogue was hard to hear because there was no sound system provided.

The sound effects and the music related to the theme and were used in the performance.

Both used dialogue to explain the situation in the scenes.

The sound effects and the music was used in a tragic scene which related to the theme.

The message was not delivered because it was not explained.

In the performance, the message was delivered very well because its being explained by the narrator and we could see it through

the scenes. The audiences were cheering and clapping. It seemed that they were happy with the performance. Both used language rather than showing gestures to send a message. The audiences clapped for the effort the performers made and they showed their interest after learning about the issue.

The performers spoke English with an Indonesian accent. Both were used facial expression and body gestures to express feelings and actions. -

They spoke in English with a British accent.

Facial expressions and body gestures were only used a little.

The angry and sad facial expressions, movements and body gestures were used to express the feelings and the actions in different situations. Few forms of art were used to help the drama performance become better.

Many different forms of art were used, such as music, dance, miming, costume and fashion.

Conclusion: Based on my opinion, the Harry- Anti Bullying was better than the Dig It performance because even though it did not use a lot of props and effects it used great facial expressions and gestures. The story was very meaningful and the conflict was interesting . The music supported the story and the plot was understandable.
