The diagram presents the manner of collecting up-to-the minute information regarding the weather with the aim

of keeping informed the audience with reliable forecasts. It can be seen there are four stages of the complete procedure of transmitting the weather forecast: first, the intake of incoming information, second, the analysis and planning of the forecast, third, the planning of the broadcast and finally, the broadcast itself. There are three main objective sources of incoming information, and these are satellites, radars and drifting buoys. The data provided by these apparatus follow the next step in the process, where an analysis is conducted for forecasting. In this phase the systems used are satellite photographs, radar screens and synoptic charts. or example, the information captured from a satellite is analy!ed under the form of a photograph, the one from the drifting buoy as a synoptic chart, whereas the data from the radar can be interpreted both from a radar screen and a synoptic chart. "ll these data go together in the same system - a computer - where the broadcast is set up and conse#uently, the last phase is targeted - the dissemination of information by $ channels: television, radio and a recorded announcement.
