Clay County Schools have taken a new approach to learning by integrating more technology into the classrooms. In January, some title one schools assimilated iPads into their curriculum. The integration of iPads has done amazing things for us, said Linda Pratt, Principal at Grove Park Elementary in Green Cove Springs. Technology within the classroom is having positive effects on students. Since the integration attendance has increased, test scores have increased, students excitement has increased, and the need for disciplinary actions have decreased. Clay Hill Elementary has seen a decrease in referrals and in school suspension since the iPads have been implemented. Since the integration students have shown increases in scores. The schools partnered with Apple professionals to help teachers and staff better understand and train for the incorporation of iPads. Tracy Kendrick, Principal at Clay Hill Elementary in Jacksonville, gave some of the teachers iPads last school year to help them prepare.
