Box 343922 Milwaukee, WI 53234 Dear Educators: I am writing to introduce myself as a professional educator and also to explain the portfolio that is designed to organize my work in preparation for student teaching. I am currently serving in my thirteenth year as a social studies teacher at Marquette University High School. I have taught classes in World History, United States History, Economics, International Relations, Research and Writing, and Reading. I started the LTM program at Alverno to improve my craft and expand my knowledge and skill sets related to education. The portfolio serves as an important reflection in this ongoing process of professional development. My portfolio has four main pages. Each of the main pages has a variety of items to select either from the pull-down menu or by clicking on the buttons provided on the main page. The LTM Portfolio Home page contains my philosophy of education, this introductory letter, a reflective piece which is a letter to new LTM students, and a resume. The Artifacts page contains a number of artifacts that highlight ways that I am working to meet standards. Each of the artifacts is accompanied by a rationale statement. The Video Lessons page contains information about three videos that I included with my portfolio to illustrate my professional behaviors as a teacher. The videos were taken while I conducted field work in middle school, summer school for incoming high school freshmen, and high school. Each of the videos also has a link to a rationale page. The Standards page provides quick button links to artifacts provided throughout the portfolio that meet each of the InTASC and Alverno Education Abilities standards. The organization of my portfolio is simple and logical. I believe that it effectively highlights ways that I am successfully meeting standards as a teacher. I am excited for the opportunity to continue to discuss my work as an educator and identify ways that I may improve my craft. Sincerely,

Luke A. Meuler
