Did very well on RR..identified error immediately. Good musician. Solid SII but needs to work on upper tone. RR-Trouble maintaining tempo. SS-read and followed music nicely but moved "Do". Liz is an interesting case. She can read the music but has trouble remembering the pitch. She will need to be by a singer who has no intonation issues and can be a strong leader for her. RR-Really not great at all. SS wasn't much better. Her tone is improving. Needs help with fundamentals. Steph won't be back for choir next year, however her range has improved dramatically. She also understands how to read music at a basic level. I imagine that if she were to continue with choir she would keep improving. Beautiful!! Intonation issues but we can work on that. Tone in undersupported and that leads to nasal-ness and intonation issues. Lacks motivation. Very noncommittal. Vocalize--more energy. Less breathy but not as forced. Space is the big issue and needs to begin using your air more effectively. RR-Counted correctly too! Second guesses herself a lot...and lacks confidence. Very note to note... Again, I come back to the second guessing... Considering where Tanner started, he's come a lot further. Tanner hasn't sung since lord knows when. He began the there only being able to create a tone on three notes. His range has now expanded to an 8va+!! Breathy tone. Always give a great effort. SS-got through the excerpt. Lost the solfege syllables and then lost where "Do" was. Range is extending higher.

Whoa....sight singing.... Has improved greatly on sight-singing. Needs to be reminded that he can sing well...confidence! Nailed SS once he got started. Such a pretty tenor voice...We need to work on reading music! Consistent tone! PERFECT sightsinging. Consistent tone. Soprano II! Perfect sight-singing!! Wow! Great job for a freshman. Has a cold and isn't very consistent with tone. Confidence issues... Very unusual. RRgot 16th notes. SS-doesn't have a lot of faith in abilities. Flutter in voice. May be hard to blend with the group, however sings very quietly... Tonal Memory-fine with solfege. Did just fine on sight-singing! Sight-singing was fine. RR was fine. Very versatile singer. Versatile voice and consistent. RRdidn't maintain steady pulse. Perfect SS again!!! Goes flat when under supported.

Tonal memory- missed third one (do-fa). Very breathy tone. I'm a little bit concerned about her willingness to commit to the time frame. However, she's a very hard worker... Tone is very covered and held back in his throat. Very easy access to higher tenor notes. SSing isn't much better. Rhythmic reading IS better! Young voice, matches pitch well. Need to put her next to better voices so that her voice can develop. Well then........ Confidence issues. Tone is developing nicely! Needs to be reminded to keep the breath spinning constantly. SS was terrible lol... Silly 8th notes-RR. SS-Rhythm was correct. Loses "Do" rather quickly. Sang it again on "numbers" and nailed it! Tone is still under-supported but very large range! Needs more breath and it will develop nicely :) No RR. No "America", SS, or RR. Lots of confidence issues.

RR-got the sixteenth notes ha! Tone has potential but it under supported. Great job sight singing!! And rhythm reading! Tone is beautiful and will develop into a high soprano nicely if she stays out for choir. RR-Missed 16th notes. SS-difficult singing steps vs skips. Long range. If supported fully, will develop very nicely. Voice is getting lower, stronger lower. RR-syncopation threw her for a loop but she still managed to get through the rhythms correctly just not following the established tempo. KILLED the sightsinging compared to last time. Stronger in her lower range. Really terrible rhythm reading. Intonation issues...very scoopy and falls flat very quickly, especially when under supported. SS-followed contuor of the line but lost "do" pretty quickly. Tonal memory--got the whole tone scale! Did great on sight singing!! Tone is very forced but intonation is better. Maybe move to Alto I to help with volume? RR-sixteenth notes tripped her up. Lower range was very clear. Great job on SS. Very clear low register. Great tone! Terrible sight singing haha! Tonal memory was great though.

No RR. Doesn't like to open his mouth to sing. Has trouble matching initial pitch. SSfollows contour of melodic line. Lost "do" right away though. RR-Didn't follow steady tempo. SS-Gave up on herself :(. RR-very slow steady tempo but all correct! Did well on TM--very easy examples though. Pitch/intonation issues. Needs to be next to a strong singer. Beautiful mid range!! Very clear :) No SS or RR Pretty lower range :) Remembered "do" on the SS. Solid (but young) middle range. RR-sixteenth notes messed her up but kept steady tempo.

Didn't sing. Not sure why. Did well on reading solfege for sight singing. Didn't attempt one of the tonal memory examples. Didn't attempt sight singing. Did not attempt SS. SS-did a great job for freshmen! Trouble matching pitch. Couldn't keep a steady tempo.

Didn't match pitch on SS. No TM. Definitely a 2nd soprano now (or at least she is after this voice check.) No TM because of Jazz band. SSknows her solfege syllables and knows how the solfege scale ascends/descends. Started on the wrong note so I think there may be a matching-pitch issue. That being said, she uses so much negative self talk and self-doubt that she doesn't think she is an intelligent singer. She has very little confidence, especially when put on the spot in situations like this. No RR Comments
