Education Education in Spain is very important. Spain believes that without education you cannot succeed in life.

Spain coincides with the United Nations, Education is not only a right but a passport to human development. It opens doors and expands opportunities and freedoms (Education for all,). Spains education begins from the age of three years old. There are daycare provided for younger children but when a child turns three that child begins going to Preschool (Snelling, 2010). In the table it shows the various school children go to in Spain. In Spain public and free education is from age 6-16. After the age of 16 students can go to two different schools, one is high school which there students taught in subject that interest the student (Spanish education system, 2014). Another school students can attend is a vocational/ professional training. This school is about training to students if they like what they do they may continue at another school and get a degree. Figure 1) Shows how children in different ages attended school in Spain (Snelling, 2010).

Education is valued in all households in Spain and is very much encouraged to all students. In the United Nations they created six Education for All (EFA) goals and they are introduced and followed throughout Spain. Spain has been achieving most of the EFA goals

(Education, 2010). Spain has accomplished the first goal which says that schools expand and improve early childhood care. Spain is working on getting ethnic minorities to get education accessible to all young women and girls (Education, 2010).

Figure 2. In this bar graph the literacy levels of Span almost tied up with the United States. This is showing how literacy is close to everyone else in the country. (Jackson, 2010).

Spain is really trying to improve all the standards. In literacy we have achieved to be 97.9% literate (Spanish education system, 2014). This means that we are really stepping it up to other countries. Spain in 2010, almost had the exact same literacy scores that the United States of America. In figure 1, there is a bar graph that is demonstrating the literacy scores for the United States and Spain.
