COMMUNION The Reason You Must Die!
John 12:24 - Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. The communion table is a picture of death. You cannot see the body, but you can see and partake of what is a reminder of the one who died. The communion table has for many, lost its value and although we partake, many remain unchanged. Death is not what we want to think about, nor is it something we plan. You might have a funeral policy or life insurance, but this does not mean that you are prepared to die. I want to say to you today that; IT IS TIME TO DIE! My uncle passed away a week ago and my aunt blessed me with a pair of his good shoes. When I wear the shoes it is a reminder of uncle Bernie, and I also remember what caused His death. When we partake of the communion emblems, we are reminded of the One who died and the reason He died. It is also a reminder that you MUST die! Romans 6:11 - Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:12- Therefore, brethren, we are debtorsnot to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

You MUST as a believer die to the old nature. You must die to the old way of thinking. You must die to gossip, slander, lying, cheating, adultery, and any addictions. The apostle Paul said, in Galatians I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Did you ever go to a cemetery and try to curse and swear at the grave of a friend or family member. Did you notice that they never react! Its because they are dead. You must reckon yourself to be dead! Stop reacting to every issue, or problem with your fleshly thinking. When you partake of communion you are symbolically putting Christ on the inside of you. The Christ in you MUST be seen and heard.

Communion is not just a reminder that He died, BUT that YOU must also DIE!
