Part b. Our lesson plan was inspired by the amount of safety children and teachers need when they are using the internet. We all knew that most teachers and students have social networks. So, we know that as teachers it is important for us to separate our personal lives from our professional lives. Also, as students they need to be careful on the internet and keep their privacy updated. We all use social networks and have our profiles private, so we know how to make our profiles private to users who we do not accept to view our profiles.

It is important for families to be aware of their childrens internet usage. Not only should parents track the amount of time their child is on the computer, they need to monitor the sites their children visit, and what they are putting on the internet. It becomes increasingly important when children begin to visit social media sites. Cyber protection is of the utmost importance for everyone, especially children. Without the proper protection and filter, children can put themselves in dangerous or violent situations. Some students face discrimination and bullying on the internet, while others target students using social media. Students also display information that is meant to be kept personal, such as full names, phone numbers, addresses or photos. The safety of children relies on the ability for parents to keep track of what their kids do on the internet. O'Keefe, Gwenn, and Kathleen Clark-Pearson. This article explained what happens to a childs mind psychologically when they are exposed to computers and social media websites. The point is that in modern days children will choose to play internet games on the computer instead of using the computer as a source for learning. Researchers say that over the years children will be even more inclined to choose games over educational uses for the computer. Studies show that children use computers more to meet people, and play games than parents. Most parents use the computers for business purposes only. Overall, studies show that there is positive correlation with the use of computers and a students grades. Greenfield, Patricia, Gross, Elisheva, Kraut, Robert, and Subrahmanyam, Kaveri.
