CAPUT XVII March 21, 2014 In- Class Exercise

Goal: Recognize subordinate clauses and markers, recognize relative pronouns and understand how thoughts are put together in more complex Latin sentences. These are questions from the Exercitationes from todays homework worry about identification, not translation for this in-class exercise

Instruction: Mark off the subordinate clause, if any, and circle any relative pronouns. Be prepared to answer how you know where the subordinate clause begins and ends do not worry about having a perfect translation just yet.

Potens quoque est vis artium, quae nos semper alunt.

Incipimus veritatem intellegere, quae mentes nostras semper regere debet et sine qua valere non possumus.

Itaque celer rumor mortis acris per ingentes urbes cucurrit

Multi auditors saturas acres timebant quas poeta recitabat.

Simulatio delet veritatem, sine qua nomen amicitiae valere non potest.
