Key Points

Air pollution kills around 7 million people every year, accounting for one in eight deaths worldwide World Heath Organization (WHO) released March 25 New Delhi earlier this year a journalistic frenzy ensued, with dozens are articles asking whether China or India had the smoggiest capital city According to the 2014 edition of our Environmental Performance Index (EPI), a biennial ranking of countries produced by Yale and Columbia universities, India and China both tie for dead last in terms of populations affected by poor air quality China and India contributes to diplomatic noise while distracting useful investigations into a global problem that is killing a lot of people The 2014 EPI reveals that 1.78 billion people are currently exposed to PM2.5 levels 250 percent higher than that threshold deemed safe by the WHO Our research points to some of the major obstacles to improving these negativ e trends. First, an international consensus on airpollution reduction targets doe s not exist Although scientists and public health advocates might agree on what threshold for safeair quality levels look like, enacting policies and targets to achieve the m is much more complicated The second obstacle to improving air quality is poor monitoring on the part of governments and authorities This may be due to theexpense of monitoring or, disturbingly, policymakers f ear of exposing air pollution realities

Authors Points
I believe the author point in making this article is to tell us about how there are many problems that cause air pollution. A how solving each problem one at a time putting all your effort and time into doing one thing that hundreds of things at the same time goes faster. The EPA cant fix every problem but they do the fix the biggest thing within the problem which helps out a lot the EPA help find out what was wrong like what was the main problem for Beijing and New Delhi air pollution problems.

Summary
I believe that we just need to have new uses for transportations and everything we have grown so much with it comes to the uses of technology but we still cause so much pollution. We all share the plant and we all feel the pain of the plant even if one country is causing the problem. We are all humans so we all have to come together to fix the problem.
