Effects of Global Climate Change

+Positive
Feedback
As ice melts due to global climate change, the ice melts to reveal land which absorbs more heat than ice therefore causing more ice to melt and more land to be revealed and so on.

Industrial Smog vs Photochemical Smog

Industrial smog occurs in cool, coastal areas where the mist of the morning fog combines with sulfur and particulate matter from factories and fuel combustion. Photochemical smog is mostly made up of ozone. The combination of trapped heat, oxygen and carbon the emissions create a blanket of smog that peaks at high noon.

Temperature Changes
Green House Gases (GHGs) such as water vapor, carbon dioxide and methane slow down and prevent the process of the release of heat to space. These greenhouse gases act as a blanket covering the Earth making it warmer that it normally would be. This is called the greenhouse Effects.

Changes in Precipitation
The breakdown of the ozone layer causes more UV rays to penetrate through to the surface of the Earth. Therefore, causing long droughts, yet at the same time, the warmer air traps more water vapor. These two changed factors cause huge storms, hurricanes and floods and long dry droughts.

+Sea level
change
As the Earth is warming up, the sea waters warm up too. As the water heats up the water molecules expand. Not only does this effect sea level but the melting of land glaciers adding to ocean water is making the tides rise. Change in Biota
As the normal climate and natural weather start to change, animals usually content with its environment are now becoming stressed out with the differences and are not capable of adapting fast enough for the change.
