Classroom Experiences In my Intermediate Accounting I class, my final project was to analyze the financial statement of a publicly traded company and answer some questions given by the instructor, the assignment was given to us on a Sunday and since I had never done this I researched how to analyze a statement, whenever I had doubts I asked my professor for guidance, I knew that it was very important milestone for any accountant so what I did was there was 10 questions due in a week so I decided to break the ten questions into 4 days: 3 questions were due by Tuesday morning, the following three questions were to be completed by Thursday, and the last 4 questions were to be done by Saturday morning and the reason was the last four questions were interrelated and by having a deadline of Saturday morning that meant I had a day and a half to revise the report and turn in it in on time. In my Auditing I class had a quarter long group project in which I had to investigate the authenticity of a companys financial statements and I had to give the company advice on how they could improve their flaws, and half way through the project I took control of my group as the acting team leader lost control of the situation because group members were not showing up to the team meeting or were not turning in their part of the assignments so I decided to do their part so that we would never fall behind in the project which as a result demonstrates my skills in leadership and getting things done on time In my Business Information Systems with Lab class, I have to use Peachtree Complete Accounting Software, well I had never used the software before the first week of the term I went online and read about the software and looked at the online manual on how to operate the system, then when the quarter started as to be expected during week 1 I had the opportunity to do my homework assignment using either excel, or Peachtree and then export my work from Peachtree into an excel spreadsheet. What I decided was to start gaining experience using Peachtree as I already have a good grasp of Excel, So I logged into the system, and the first thing I did was look at the tutorials, the help menu, the guides and by doing this I was able to identify the key areas of the program, I found where different items were located, I was able to create different reports, I was able to post different transactions to the journals, I was successfully able to create accounts and create vendors and suppliers in addition I also created orders and made fictitious payments and received fictitious payments.
