There will be a focus on the causes and consequences of the war. Firstly, students will complete a Quickwrite to introduce the unit and display their prior knowledge. They will identify the consequences of WWII by completing a graphic organizer and will gain familiarity for the sequence of events throughout the war by completing an interactive timeline. A Webquest will build their data collection and critical thinking skills. Several opportunities for writing, sharing ideas, and collaborating in class will exist throughout this interactive unit. They will develop mastery of the concepts introduced and demonstrate this via multiple-choice exam at the end of the unit. Students will also understand the immense loss of human life and develop presentation skills by creating a Holocaust presentation with a partner and presenting it to the class.
