My undergraduate education in computer science at the University of North Texas and my experience working as an intern for UniPixel, Inc. qualify me for this position. My education in computer science has given me a strong background in data organization and logical thinking. The problems I solved developed my ability to think through a process in a step-by-step, logical manner. For one of my projects, I designed a gradebook application that organized up to 100 students and 25 courses. The application allowed the user to search for specific students and courses by name or ID number. My solution demonstrated my ability to manage hundreds of items in an orderly fashion. I also created a program that synthesized four separate files to function as a collective unit. By completing this project, I learned how to incorporate different elements into a unified, simple structure. I also worked at UniPixel, Inc. as a lab technician. During that time, I managed the inventory of the chemistry lab by consolidating the individual items into a single location and recording them into various databases. This centralized system reduced time spent searching for necessary items and increased productivity. UniPixels chemical engineers and physicists use these databases to find specific samples for comparison and reference to new products. My system helped UniPixel stay competitive in a market of other companies with streamlined manufacturing processes. I also assisted in electroless copper plating by moving products to their proper stations. This duty taught me how to monitor different production elements as well as how to prevent product damage.
