Eligibility: Long Term Scholarships (Up to $3,000) are awarded to members of Dallas County chapters who have been a Dallas County member for three years and are pursuing a doctoral degree. The applicant must be a doctoral candidate. Purpose of the Scholarships: Members of all the Dallas County Chapters of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International created the Cora McFarland Scholarship Fund to benefit members of chapters within Dallas County. The Cora McFarland Scholarship Committee awards scholarships annually to members of the Society to enhance the fulfillment of the fifth purpose: to endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study... Only the interest generated by the Fund may be used for granting scholarship stipends. Short Term Scholarships (Up to $1000) are awarded to members of a Dallas County chapter who have been a Dallas County member for at least one full year. The applicant must be working for credit toward an advanced degree, certification, or engaged in special study. Members may apply for a short term scholarship alternating years of two consecutive years, but no more than twice in a three year period. Recipients may use the short-term scholarship for a project or course of a study completed within the last year or commenced within one year of receipt. Application: The applicant must submit her application on current forms furnished upon request by the coordinator of the Cora McFarland Scholarship Committee, or by the Delta Pi representative. The deadline for submitting an application is March 1, 2010.
