Hugo Gonzalez, 27 years old of Harbor City was arrested by Redondo Beach Police Detectives on April 9th 2014 after an investigation into Gonzalez having sex with a minor. Gonzalez was arrested in 2010 for having sex with a minor after befriending the minor on Myspace. In the 2010 investigation, Gonzalez claimed he was 19 years old arranged a meeting with and had sex with a 14 year old minor. Gonzalez was convicted in Federal Court in June of 2011 for the use of a computer to entice a minor to engage in any sexual activity. Following this conviction, Gonzalez was registered as a sex offender. In the Redondo Beach investigation, Gonzalez used the internet website meetme.com to again meet with minors early this year, and used the KIK smartphone application to converse with two female minors (ages 15). Gonzalez eventually met with the minors, provided alcohol to them, and had sex with one of the minors. In both cases, Gonzalez used alias with the minors. In the Redondo Beach case, Gonzalez told the minors that he was 23 years old. A picture Gonzalez sent to the minors in the Redondo Beach case, assisted detectives in identifying Gonzalez. The Los Angeles County District Attorneys office filed seven felony counts against Gonzalez and two misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to minors. Gonzalez is currently in Los Angeles County Jail with a $245,000 bail awaiting his preliminary hearing.
