Assessment of Student Learning

6. Create: Students will formulate a short oral presentation about their partner to share with the class. 1. Take students to the computer lab. Have each student make a WeVideo account. Then instruct students on the different features of the program and how to use it. 2. Have children bring photos to school on a USB flash-drive,upload to Google Drive or Dropbox, or you can have parents e-mail photos to the teacher. Students will need pictures of themselves, their family, hobbies/interests, etc. 3. Have students make their own unique WeVideo; have them include information that they want their fellow peers to know about them. 4. Give students a rubric, so they know what you expect of them. In the rubric, incorporate the use of audio, text, pictures, etc. 5. After each student has completed a video, have them write an introductory statement to recite to the class before presenting the video. 6. Then students will present their video to the teacher and fellow classmates. 7. To evaluate your students, have them compose a short oral presentation (roughly 3 facts in length) about a randomly selected partner partner to share with the class. After all of these presentations are completed, students will play a class-wide game in which the teacher reads off a fact that is specific to one particular student and the rest of the class gets to guess which student that is. To measure success, students will be graded on if they can present three facts about a fellow classmate. This will help reinforce students newly acquired knowledge of their classmates. It will also help to create and foster new relationships amongst the students in the class.
