Have You Tried Safari Montage Yet?

In our last Tidbytes, we told you about our new Video On Demand system that we were
installing over the summer, called Safari Montage. If you haven't had an opportunity to access
the new system, now is the time. Safari Montage has replaced both UnitedStreaming and our
own internal VOD system and includes over 2000 high-quality digital video from major
production companies like Schlessinger, BBC, PBS, and A&E. All of the videos in the system
have been aligned to NYS learning standards. In addition to video clips, there is also a searchable
index of images and audio clips that can be used for presentations. Safari allows you to create
playlists that can connect video clips, images, audio clips, and even your own uploaded files into
one seamless presentation.

Another aspect of Safari worth exploring is CreationStation, which can be found under the
“Modules” tab. CreationStation allows you to upload your own videos, pictures, sound files, and
even SMART Notebook files. These files can be added to your playlist or shared among the
entire school. All content added to CreationStation is also searchable by subject area.
