Creative Activities Lesson Plan

Name of Learning Experience/ Activity: Lets Learn the ABCs Age group: 3-5 year old Learning Area: Fine Arts State Goal: 25- Know the language of the arts. Learning Standard: A- Understand the sensory elements, organizational principles and expressive qualities of the arts. Benchmarks: 25.A.ECd- Visual Arts: Investigate the elements of visual arts. Learning Area: Language Arts State Goal: 1- Read with understanding and fluency Learning Standard: A- Apply word analysis and vocabulary skills to comprehend selections. Benchmarks: 1.A.ECd- Identify some letters, including those in own name. 1.A.ECe- Make some letter-sound matches. Learning Objectives: Children will learn the alphabetical order. Children will be given the opportunity to look at visuals to help them learn and identify letters. Materials: Index cards with the alphabetical order Procedure: Children will be in the tables for activity time. Teacher will be sitting with them and teacher will show the flashcards while she is repeating the letters. The teacher will ask the children to repeat the letters as she says them.

Creative Activities Lesson Plan Name of Learning Experience/ Activity: 5 Little Ducks (Music) Age Group: 1-3 year old Learning Area: Mathematics State Goal: 6- Demonstrate and apply knowledge and sense of numbers, including numeration and operations, patterns, ratios, and proportions. Learning standard: A- Demonstrate knowledge and use of numbers and their representations in a broad range of theoretical and practical settings. Benchmarks: 6.A.ECb. Use concepts that include number recognition, counting and one-to-one correspondence. Learning Objective: While singing and listening to the song the children will learn numbers. (1,2,3,4,5). Children will also learn the concept of new animals. (Ducks) Materials: CD with song Procedure: children will be gathered to circle time. The teacher will play the song and sing the song to the children. The teacher will ask the children to also sing along and to call out the numbers.

Learning Standard: A- Describe numerical relationships using variables and patterns. Benchmarks: 8.A.EC- Sort and classify objects by a variety of properties.

Learning Area: Mathematics State Goal: 8- Use algebraic and analytical methods to identify and describe patterns and relationships in data, solve problems, and predict results. Learning Standard: B- Interpret and describe numerical relationships using tables, graphs and symbols. Benchmarks: 8.B.ECa- Recognize, duplicate and extend simple patterns, such as sequences of sounds, shapes and colors. Learning Objectives: Children will learn shapes. (Circle, Triangle, Square, Rectangle). Children will look at visuals to learn the shapes. Materials: Flashcards with shapes Procedures: During activity time the teacher will show the students flashcards with shapes on them. The teacher will say them out loud then she will ask children to repeat. After doing this for a few times the teacher will then ask individual children to name any shape that she will show them.

Benchmarks: 1.A.ECa- Understands that pictures and symbols have meaning and that print carries a message. 1.A.ECc- Identify labels and signs in the environment Learning Objectives: Children will learn about the differences with fruits and vegetables. Children will learn and identify fruits and vegetables. Children will also learn them in English and Spanish. Materials: Fruits and Vegetables Frutas y vegetales By Gladys Rosa-Mendoza Procedure: children will ask to go to the carpet for circle time. The teacher will begin to read the story. The teacher will explain to the children the differences with fruits and vegetables. As the teacher is reading the book the teacher will identify to the children the types of fruits and vegetables there are.

Learning Standard: C- Comprehend a broad range of reading materials. Benchmarks: 1.C.ECa- Retell information from a story. Learning Area: Physical Development and Health State Goal: 21- Develop team-building skills by working with others through physical activity. Learning Standard: A- Demonstrate individual responsibility during group physical activities. Benchmarks: 21.A.EC- Follow rules and procedures when participating in group physical activities. Learning Area: Fine Arts State Goal: 26- Through creating and performing, understand how works of art are produced. Learning Standard: A- Understand processes, traditional tools and modern technologies used in the arts. Benchmarks: 26.A.ECb- Drama: Participate in drama activities. Learning Objectives: Children will be able to choose any of their favorite story to act out. Children will develop team building skills with working with classmates. Children will be given the opportunity to dramatize anything they are feeling. Materials: Costumes Procedure: Children will be in play area but before they will be given the chance to choose any partners they will like to work with. The students will be given time to play or think of a favorite book. Once they choose the story they are going to be asked to dramatize they story.

Children will also see examples of objects in color. Materials: colors, colores (Book) Procedure: Children will gather in the carpet or for story time. The teacher will then start to read the book. While the teacher is reading the book, the teacher will ask the students to repeat the colors.
