SAME LA Post Young Members 2013 Recap & Upcoming in 2014

2013 Accomplishments
What a great year! Last spring we decided to revamp our Young Members committee. Since then we were able to accomplish some fun and challenging events. In April, we hosted a YM Happy Hour following the LA Post Small Business Open House. Over the Memorial weekend, we raised over $1,500 for Veterans through the New Directions Walk for Warriors 5K. During the last week of June, we assisted as mentors to High School students attending the SAME Engineering & Construction Camp at the US Air Force Academy. In August we hosted an LA Post & USACE 101 lunch and learn. Over the Veterans holiday, we volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in building new homes and renovations to low income families. We concluded the year at the LA Post Holiday Ball.

Upcoming in 2014
For 2014, we are looking to increase our membership and further enhance our initiatives of Mentoring, Community Service, Social Networking, and creating a Student Chapter. We plan to continue last years events and build upon in 2014. Below are some current events you can mark in your calendars for 2014, and some open positions on the committee.
